Jeremy Renner says he get to explore the character of Hawkeye more in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Sadly, Hawkeye is the Avenger we know the least about going into Age of Ultron - mainly because he spent most of Avengers Assemble under Loki's spell. However, Renner reveals that we learn more about his this time around.
On top of that early chatter from a screening in the U.S. suggests that Renner has some of the best lines in the film and really takes on a much bigger role than first time around.
Renner spoke to Collider about his bigger role in Age of Ultron, he said: "I speak in this movie, which is awesome. I got to dive into some really killer aspects of him. When I sat down with Joss and Kevin, back in the day, about why I liked and wanted to play Hawkeye, it was because I could never do what these [other] gentlemen do.
"I don't have that creative of a mind. I understood Hawkeye, in the sense that he's a human with a higher skill set, so I could tap into that. I feel like I got to explore a little bit more of that, and even outside of the skill set. I thought that was a really, really endearing and thoughtful secret that he had. I'm excited to see where that goes."
Age of Ultron will be the first time that we have seen Renner return to this role since the billion dollar success of Avengers Assemble back in 2012. The movie will see him reunite with Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and director Joss Whedon.
And we are going to be seeing even more of Renner as Hawkeye as he is set to reprise the role next year in Captain America: Civil War - this will be the first time we have seen this character in the Captain America franchise.
Filming is set to get underway later this year and will see Renner join Evans, Downey Jr, Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, and Chadwick Boseman on the cast list.
Renner has also completed work on Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, where he will reprise the role of William Brandt.
