Jeremy Irons believes that the criticism that came the way of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was deserved, calling the film 'muddled.'

Irons was one of the big new additions to the cast list as he took on the role of Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred for the first time.
While the movie has been a huge box office smash, the film has not been a critical success and faced some heavy criticism upon release earlier this year.
Speaking to the Daily Mail's Event magazine, the actor said: "Deservedly so. I mean it took $800 million, so the kicking didn't matter but it was sort of overstuffed."
"It was very muddled. I think the next one [Justice League] will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it's more linear. I'm tied into The Batman at the minute, which is nice because it's a bit of income."
Dawn of Justice saw Zack Snyder return to the director's chair while Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, and Amy Adams all starred alongside Irons.
So far, the movie has grossed over $871 million at the global box office and is the fourth highest-grossing film of the year; behind Captain America: Civil War, Zootropolis, and The Jungle Book.
As for Irons, he is set to reprise the role of Alfred in Justice League, which will also star Affleck, Cavill, Gadot, and Jason Momoa
He is set to return to the big screen this week in new biopic Race, which follows the rise and success of Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympics.
Irons will be back in a blockbuster later this year as he stars alongside Michael Fassbender in the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed.
The Justice League Part One is set for a 17th November 2017 release date.
