Jennifer Lawrence says she doesn't know where Mystique is going in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Lawrence is set to reprise the role of Mystique in the next X-Men movie, which will follow on from events of X-Men Days of Future Past.
Filming is set to get underway next year, and Lawrence says that she has already had a few conversations about the development of the character for this new film.
Speaking to IGN, the actress said: "She's very complex. She's a hero to her own race in a way which makes her a villain to the opposite race.
"I don't really know where she's gonna go. I've had a few conversations about where we'll find her. She obviously needs to be in hiding somewhere."
X-Men: Apocalypse will see Bryan Singer back in the director's chair after he steered Days of Future Past to critical and commercial success earlier this summer.
While the plot is being kept under wraps, it is believed that film will focus on the relationship between Mystique and Magneto - which will see Michael Fassbender return to the role.
James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult are some of the other franchise favourites that are set to return, while Hugh Jackman has also been linked to the project.
As for Lawrence, she is currently on the promotional trail for her latest film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which is the penultimate film in The Hunger Games franchise.
Lawrence is also set to reunite with director David O. Russell - who she worked with on Silver Linings Playbooks and American Hustle - on new biopic movie Joy.
X-Men: Apocalypse is released 19th May 2016.
