Jena Malone says her crappy morning really helped her channel Johanna Mason's anger in her Catching Fire audition.
Malone is one of the new faces on the Hunger Games: Catching Fire cast list as we are introduced to the character of Mason for the first time.
And the actress admits that she was having an awful morning the day of the audition and she was 'seething' by the time it was her turn.
Speaking to Vulture the actress said: "And I was like, Whoa, whoa, whoa, what's happening? And I was like, Oh, wait. [Johanna's] totally taking over.
"By the time I was in there, I was seething; I was frothing at the mouth. I don't even think I said hello to Francis. I just walked in and said, 'Tell me when you want me to start.'"
Her anger paid off as Malone bagged the role and is currently enjoying box office success with Catching Fire.
The movie has topped the U.S. and UK box office and has so far grossed in excess of $316 million worldwide.
Malone will back as Johanna in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 next year - filming is currently underway on the film.
