Jason Statham has revealed that he will be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise for an eighth instalment.
Statham was one of the big new additions to the seventh movie - which was released earlier this year - as he was introduced as Deckard Shaw, the older brother of Owen Shaw who wants revenge for the death of his brother.
And now the British actor says that an eighth film is in the pipeline and he is delighted that he is getting the chance to return to the franchise and the character.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Statham said: "The fanbase is very unique. They really do relate to the characters. They love these characters. They've followed them for years and years.
"We're already talking about doing another one, part eight, and I'm a newcomer. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it's nice to know that I'll be doing another."
However, Statham would not reveal anything about the plot of the eighth film when he was asked where he would like to see the story go. He continued: "I don't create the stories.
"[The writers] have always got something good up their sleeve, and I don't want to be the one who spoils everything, giving you plotlines and stuff like that. But there is some great stuff that I already know about."
Statham and the rest of the cast have enjoyed huge success with Fast & Furious 7, which has grossed over a billion dollars and is currently the highest grossing movie of the year - with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World just behind.
Earlier this week, the film became the third highest grossing movie of time - leap-frogging Avengers Assemble on the all-time list. The film is now behind Avatar and Titanic; both of which have grossed over $2 billion.
As for Statham, he has enjoyed further success this summer with action/comedy Spy, which has been met with great reviews and topped the box office. He has also finished work on Mechanic: Resurrection, which sees him return to the role of Arthur Bishop.
