David Ayer has taken to Twitter to release the first picture of Jared Leto as the Joker and the Oscar winner looks unrecognisable in the iconic role.
Leto is the latest actor to take on the role of Joker as the popular character is set to make an appearance in Suicide Squad - filming is already underway on the highly anticipated film.
Leto has been teasing his appearance for a few weeks, but Ayer took to Twitter to reveal the first image from the film... which just happened to be the Joker.
Suicide Squad will be the first time that we have seen Leto on the big screen since he scooped the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance Dallas Buyers Club - another movie that saw him undergo quite the transformation.
The movie will see Ayer back in the director's chair for the first time since Fury, and he has assembled a mouthwatering cast.
Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Margo Robbie, Common, Cara Delevingne, and Scott Eastwood are just some of the names that will star alongside Leto.
Suicide Squad is based on the comic series of the same name and will follow a bunch of supervillains who are called upon to band together and save the world.
Filming has just got underway on the film and it is set to be one of the must see movies of 2016 and is one of a string of exciting comic book movies on the horizon next year.
Suicide Squad is released 5th August 2016.
