Jamie Foxx has revealed that it was Clint Eastwood and Alex Baldwin that inspired the voice of Electro.
Foxx is one of the new additions to the cast list of The Amazing Spider Man 2 as we are introduced to the character of Electro for the first time.
And the Oscar winning actor admits that he didn't want his character to be funny in any way.
"The voice is from me watching Clint Eastwood and Alec Baldwin.
"I didn't want Electro to be funny at all. There were lines I thought he shouldn't say ... this is a man who's angry. He's mad at the gods.
"He's just using Spider-Man and these people as an excuse to act out and be evil."
Foxx looks set to be one of the most visually striking villains of 2014, and has called his suit 'badass'.
"We tried a few different versions of the look, there were some that involved a lot more blue. But this one just looked the best.
"And it cut the make-up down from four hours to about one-and-a-half, which is good for me.
"I like this suit. The suit works. It's badass. I could wear this to the clubs."
The Amazing Spider Man 2 will be the first big screen outing for Foxx since White House Down - however, he will be lending his voice to animation film Rio 2.
The Amazing Spider Man 2 is released 18th April.
