Jamie Dornan says that 50 Shades of Grey is not going to be as 'hard core' as people expect.
Dornan will be back on the big screen in the new year as he takes on the role of Christian Grey in the highly anticipated film.
And while 50 Shades of Grey is going to be a risque, Dornan says it is important to not alienate and put off an audience.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, the actor said: "In some ways it'll break a few boundaries. But at the same time, they want to put bums on seats.
"They can't alienate an audience. You know it has to be watchable. It can't be hard core. I wouldn't have signed up to it if it was.
"You've got to make something a large amount of people can go and see. It's not going to be grotesque."
Dakota Johnson will take on the role of Anastasia Steele, while Jennifer Ehle, Rita Ora and Max Martini are also on board.
Sam Taylor-Johnson is in the director's chair for the film, in what is her first movie since Nowhere Boy.
As for Dornan, he has mixed his film and TV roles this year, and is currently working on a new project with director John Wells.
The film is yet untitled, but will see the actor star alongside Bradley Cooper and Uma Thurman.
50 Shades of Grey is released 13th February.
