Jamie Bell wants to be the next James Bond.
The 31-year-old actor worked with 007 producer Barbara Broccoli on new comedy drama 'Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool'.
The pair enjoyed a good working relationship on the movie and although they did not specifically discuss the spy franchise Bell admits he would be very interested in the iconic part and work team-up with Broccoli, 57, on any project.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, Bell said: "Bond is such an iconic thing that everyone has an opinion on but it's never something that I had a direct conversation with her about. The best way to answer that is, that I would work with Barbara again in a heartbeat. On anything. Because she is a great producer."
Daniel Craig is the current 007 but he has revealed he will be bowing out after his outing in the next film, the 25th movie in the franchise, which began in 1962 with Sean Connery in 'Dr. No'.
Bell stars alongside Annette Bening and Julie Walters in 'Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool' which follows the romance between real life actress Gloria Grahame and her younger lover Peter Turner.
The film sees Bell reuniting with 'Billy Elliot' co-star Walters, 67, and admits she was like the "matriarch" of the whole movie.
He said: "Julie brought so much humour and while her character, Bella, is the matriarch of the family, Julie was like the matriarch of this whole movie. The story is very sweeping. There's illness and people having to say goodbye to one another and people falling in love. There is also a distance because the story is so bizarre in a way. Gloria was a movie star and she literally spends her last days in Peter's mum's bedroom. It's crazy."
Bell shot to fame starring in 'Billy Elliot' when he was just 14 and he said he becomes "prouder and prouder" of the movie.
He said: "I become prouder and prouder the older I get. I have always been grateful. I don't think as an actor you can really ask for much more in terms of starting out and, as the years go on, I get more perspective on it. It is a very special movie, a very special story, and it's a very effective film."
