'Insidious Chapter 2' will be a lot more "grounded".
Director James Wan believes making the sequel to his hit 2011 horror film more realistic will ensure it's even scarier than the original because audiences can relate to the scenes.
He explained: "I tried to ground this film much more in the real world, and I learned a lot of that from making 'The Conjuring' as well; that the more I ground it in the real world the more effective the scares will play out."
'Bridesmaids' star Rose Byrne and 'Watchmen' actor Patrick Wilson will reprise their roles as the matriarch and patriarch of the Lambert family, who find themselves under spooky circumstances when their young son becomes a vessel for ghosts.
Wan - who will next direct 'Fast & Furious 7' - says it was easy to get the actors on board for the follow-up because the first film was so much fun to make.
He added to Collider.com: "We all had a great time on the first movie and no one knew how successful the first movie would become so there was no pressure, we just had fun doing it. The idea of doing it again was an easy sell."
