James Marsden says he would have like to have reprised his role of Cyclops in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Marsden took on the role of Cyclops in X-Men, X2, and X-Men: Last Stand, but was killed off in the third film.
Days of Future Past sees actors from the original franchise return alongside those from X-Men: First Class, and Marsden is excited to see the film.
Speaking to Crave Online, the actor said: "I've always been very proud of my role and it's out of my hands. It's nice to see Bryan go back in and turn the boat a little bit.
"I'm happy for those that made it back. I'd like to. I get excited watching the trailers because I'm excited for the continuance of the X-Men world.
"I'm a fan of X-Men and I know it'll be a kick-ass movie."
Days of Future Past will see Bryan Singer return to the director's chair, and has hinted that he may address some of the events that have happened in previous films.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is released 22nd May.
