This summer, Independence Day: Resurgence is set to blast onto the big screen twenty years after the huge success of the first movie.
Yes, it was back in 1996 when Will Smith and co saw off the alien invasion and kicked some butt along the way... now the human race is going to have to protect the planet once again.
The brand new trailer for the film has arrived and it looks set to be a huge action-packed ride. Check it out:
Independence Day: Resurgence sees Roland Emmerich back in the director's chair as he returns to the sci-fi genre and the big budget blockbuster.
As well as a familiar face in the director's chair, there are also some familiar faces on the cast list as Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, and Brent Spiner are back as David Levinson, President Whitmore, Jasmine, Julius Levinson, and Dr. Brakish Okun.
But there are some great new additions to the cast list as Liam Hemsworth, William Fichtner, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward, Jessie Usher, and Charlotte Gainsbourg are all on board.
We always knew they were coming back. After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defence program to protect the planet.
But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
Independence Day: Resurgence is released 23rd June.
