It is bad news for all Chris Hemsworth fans this morning, as Warner Bros have revealed that they are delaying the release of In The Heart of the Sea until December.

In The Heart of the Sea

In The Heart of the Sea sees Hemsworth reunite with director Ron Howard for the first time since the success of Rush for the adaptation of the book of the same name by Nathaniel Phibrick.

The movie was set to hit the big screen in the UK on the 13th March, but now we are going to have to wait until December to get a look at this movie - personally, I am really disappointed as the trailers were promising another Howard gem.

However, this could end up being an incredibly shred move by Warner Bros as the new December release date does put the movie in prime position at the beginning of the awards season - we could well see In The Heart of the Sea in the mix for major gongs this time next year.

This is the first film for Howard since he triumphed with Rush back in 2013, and is based on a real event back in 1820. The movie follows a whaling ship that is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at seas for ninety days and thousands of miles from home. This is the story that is believed to have been the inspiration for the novel Moby Dick.

Hemsworth is set to take on the central role of Owen Chase in the film, while Cillian Murphy, Ben Whihshaw, Brendan Gleeson, Paul Anderson, Michelle Fairley, and Charlotte Riley are all also on board.

It is not all doom and gloom for Hemsworth fans, as there are a couple of other projects that we are going to be seeing him star in this year. Blackhat is up first as the actor teams up with director Michael Mann for the first time for this crime thriller.

He is then set to reprise the role of Thor in the highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron - we were treated to an action packed new trailer earlier this week. The events of Age of Ultron look set to lead into Thor: Ragnorak - the third solo film for this character.

Hemsworth is currently filming comedy Vacation with Leslie Mann, Christian Applegate, and Michael Pena and he is set to return to the role of The Huntsman in The Huntsman.
