In The Heart of the Sea is set to be a Boxing Day movie that's not to be missed as Ron Howard returns to the director's chair.
This is the first film for Howard since the fantastic Rush and it is based on the incredible true story that inspired the well-known tale of Moby Dick.
The movie sees Tom Holland Brendan Gleeson take on the role of young and older Tom Nickerson, a man on board the Essex when it was attacked by the whale.
Holland plays the Nickerson who experienced the ordeal while Gleeson plays that older version of the same character who remembers it and tells his tale to novelist Herman Melville, played by Ben Whishaw.
In this great new clip you get to meet one of the film's central characters. Check it out:
Howard has brought together a wonderful cast for In The Heart of the Sea as Holland, Gleeson, and Whishaw are joined by Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Frank Dillane, Paul Anderson, Charlotte Riley, and Michelle Fairly.
In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story.
In the Heart of the Sea reveals the encounter's harrowing aftermath, as the ship's surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.
In The Heart of the Sea is released 26th December.
