Ilan Eshkeri says Ralph Fiennes was very 'hands on' when it came to working on the music for The Invisible Woman.
Eshkeri is the composer for the film, and reunited with Fiennes after they worked together on Coriolanus.
And while Eshkeri says he had great artistic freedom, he says Fiennes had a clear vision of what he wanted.
Speaking exclusively to FemaleFirst, he said: "He is brilliant to work with, I love working with him. He is hands on, but he has something that is very difficult to achieve and something that I admire; he has the ability to give you the artistic space to be creative, to bring creative ideas, and to have your voice.
"I feel very much like my artistry is part of this film. At the same time, he has a very clear and defined vision so if it is not right it is not right.
"How you do both things - they are opposing things - I don't know, but I do think that that is the mark of a really brilliant director."
Eshkeri had a busy 2013 having composed the music for the likes of Austenland, I Give It A Year and Ronin.
The Invisible Woman is released 21st February.
