James Gunn has revealed there is 'zero chance' of the Hulk making an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
Gunn is set to return to the director's chair for the highly anticipated sequel and rumours have been swirling that we could be seeing Bruce Banner pop up in the film.
However, Gunn has taken to Twitter to quash the rumour and set everyone straight, writing:
This news comes just days after it was revealed that the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, had originally been in Captain America: Civil War, before being cut from the film.
SPOILER: At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, we saw the Hulk escaping in a jet and cutting off all communication with the group. It was felt that there was too much explanation as to where he had been to cram into the third solo Captain America film. All that is being left for another project - quite possibly Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.
Avengers: Age of Ultron was the last time that we saw Ruffalo take on this role and we may have to wait until Infinity War Part 1 before we see this popular character again. At the moment, there are no plans for a solo film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is already one of the most anticipated of the upcoming Marvel films and is set to hit the big screen in 2017 with Gunn on writing and directing duties.
Filming on the movie is set to get underway next year with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel all expected to return.
Guardians of the Galaxy hit the big screen last year and went on to gross over $774 million at the global box office. It was the third highest grossing film of the year, behind Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is released 28th April 2017.
