Hugh Jackman has revealed that he doesn’t know if he will be reprising the role of Wolverine in the third solo movie for the popular character.
Jackman was back on the big screen this summer in The Wolverine, and it has been announced by 20th Century Fox that a third stand-alone film has been given the green light.
However, it is yet to be announced that Jackman, who has played Wolverine since the release of X-Men back in 2000, will be on board.
Speaking to Vanity Fair the actor said: "I don't know whether or not I will do this next movie.
"I am really proud of (The Wolverine) and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride.
"That's exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn't reach those, I won't be doing it."
Jackman will be reprising the role of Wolverine next year in X-Men: The Days of Future Past - which is the sequel to First Class.
The movie will see Jackman reunite with director Bryan Singer who was at the helm of X-Men and X2; this is the first X-Men movie for Singer since the success of X2.
It was announced last week that X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in 2016, but it is yet to be revealed which characters and actors will appear in that movie.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to being together a great cast of original franchise members and new stars as Jackman is joined by Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, James McAvoy and Michel Fassbender.
