Hugh Jackman says that he would love to see a movie where the X-Men and the Avengers come together.
Jackman is currently filming X-Men: Days of Future Past where he will be reprising the role of Wolverine - this will be his first none stand alone X-Men movie since The Last Stand.
The two superhero franchises are made by different studios but Jackman sees no reason why they cannot come together to make the ultimate comic book movie.
Speaking to Screen Rant the actor said: "One of the great things about this movie is that a lot of people from Marvel are here and it seems a lot more inclusive than it has been in the past.
"I don't know what's happening behind the scenes, but I think it's fantastic. I actually just asked the other day, I said, 'I don't know what the legal situation is, but why don't these companies come together? Why isn't it possible?'
"Because personally, I would love to mix it up with Robert Downey Jr and Iron Man and kick his ass. It'd be great."
X-Men: Days of Future Past also sees Bryan Singer return to the X-men universe for the first time since he helmed X2. Halle Berry, Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart are all also returning.
As for Jackman we will be seeing him as Wolverine this summer for The Wolverine, the second stand alone movie for this character.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is released 18th July 2014.
