Hugh Jackman says that The Wolverine is more of a character piece and is a little darker than any of the X-Men movies that have gone before.
The Wolverine is the second stand alone film for this character and will bring to the big screen the popular Japanese story arc from the comics.
And Jackman admits that this film feels a 'little different' to any of the X-Men films he has been involved with in the past.
Speaking to CNN the actor said: "[Wolverine's] sort of interested in [the offer of mortality], because if your life is not great and there is a lot of regret and pain, would it be great to live on and on?"
"Yes, [The Wolverine] is a character piece, and I would say it may be a little darker in tone than the others, and it certainly feels a little different, [but] it's just as much fun. The action in this is probably more inventive than we've ever had before."
The film sees Jackman reunite with director James Mangold for what is his first Wolverine film since X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009.
But we will be seeing this character back on the big screen sooner than you know it as Jackman will also be starring in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The film will merge characters from X-Men: First Class with the popular stars of the original film series with Bryan Singer back in the director's chair.
The Wolverine is released 26th July.
