Holliday Grainger will play an evil stepsister in 'Cinderella'.

The 'Great Expectations' actress has landed a supporting role in Disney's upcoming re-imagining of the classic fairytale, playing one of the titular character's mean spirited sisters, according to TheWrap.com.

Grainger will star alongside 'Downton Abbey' beauty Lily James, who is set to play the lead character, 'Game of Thrones' hunk Richard Madden, who has been cast in the role of Prince Charming, and Cate Blanchett, who will play Cinderella's evil stepmother.

In the fairytale, Cinderella is often ridiculed by her stepmother and two stepsisters, although it's not yet known who will play the second sister.

The British actress is best known for playing Lucrezia Borgia in historical TV drama 'The Borgias' and last year played the lead female role in Mike Newell's 'Great Expectations' adaptation. Her other credits include 'Bel Ami' opposite Robert Pattinson and Joe Wright's 'Anna Karenina'.

'Cinderella' is set to be directed by 'Thor' helmer Kenneth Branagh and is expected to begin filming later this year in the UK.

The movie marks Disney's latest fairytale movie following the success of 2010's 'Alice in Wonderland', based on Lewis Carroll's book of the same name, and 'Wizard of Oz' prequel 'Oz the Great and Powerful'.
