Hitman: Agent 47

Rupert Friend is set to become an action hero this summer as he takes on the title role in the upcoming Hitman: Agent 47.

Hitman: Agent 47 is based on the popular computer game Hitman and this is the second time that we have seen this game give a big screen makeover. I don't know about you, but I am quite looking forward to Agent 47 as it is promising to be an action packed ride.

While Friend is no stranger to the big screen - he is perhaps best known as for his role as Peter Quinn in TV series Homeland - and this is the biggest film role of his career to date.

The brand new trailer for the film has been released and it will give you a chance to see Friend in action:

A terrific cast has been assembled for the film as Friend is joined by Zachary Quinto, Ciaran Hinds, Hannah Ware, and Thomas Kretschmann, while Aleksander Bach is in the director's chair; this will mark his feature film directorial debut.

Hitman: Agent 47 centres on an elite assassin (Friend) who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research - and forty-six earlier Agent clones -- endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence.

His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.

Hitman: Agent 47 is released 27th August.
