Henry Cavill has hinted that Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will make 'cinematic history.'
Cavill is set to reprise the role of Superman for the sequel to Man of Steel, which will see Ben Affleck take on the role of Batman for the first time.
Filming on the movie has wrapped and Cavill has revealed that he is excited about the project.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the actor said: "We're making cinematic history, we're doing Batman, we're doing Superman and it's all happening at the same time.
"Fingers crossed [that] it is going to be as exciting as I think it is."
Zack Snyder will be in the director's chair for the new film, while Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne are some of the familiar faces that will be returning.
As well as being introduced to Batman - the first time that we will be seeing this character on the big screen since The Dark Knight Rises - we will also be seeing Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Momoa, and Jeremy Irons as Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Aquaman, and Alfred.
However, before we see Cavill return as Clark Kent, he will be back this summer with The Man From U.N.C.L.E., which is based on the sixties television show.
Cavill will take on the role of Napoleon Solo as he teams up with director Guy Ritchie for the first time - Armie Hammer is also on board as Illya Kuryakin.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released 25th March 2016.
