Helen Mirren says she hates movie with random killing in and so demanded that her character only partially disable people when she goes on a shooting spree in Red 2.
The Oscar winning actress is set to reprise the role of former CIA operative Victoria in the action/comedy.
And Mirren says that she made it quite clear to director Dean Parisot what she wanted to do in this scene.
Speaking to the Reader's Digest the actress said: "I have this big sequence where I walk into an embassy and start shooting. I kept saying to the director, 'I will not shoot to kill. I want it to be very clear that I'm not killing people. Please, make it very clear'.
"So Victoria's only partially disabling them. I do get terribly upset when I see films where people are just randomly shot. I think they all have families to go to, children at home, you know.
"Victoria's a trained assassin, but isn't random - it's very carefully done. That sort of arbitrary killing with automatic weapons is just not her style."
Red 2 sees Mirren reunite with Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker while Catherine Zeta Jones and Anthony Hopkins are some of the new faces on the cast list.
Mirren has a busy summer ahead of her as she has also lent her voice to Pixar film Monsters University.
Red 2 is released 2nd August.
