Happy Death Day 3 is supposedly in the works, as Blum has tweeted that “Something is stirring” regarding the horror movie. See Blum’s Tweet below:

This slasher/comedy series brings an odd yet intriguing twist to its horror subgenre, as college student Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) sees herself stuck in a terrifying time loop, where she is hunted by a murderer on the night of her birthday.

The only way Tree can break the cycle of death that has shrouded her, is to find out who keeps killing her.

The first movie, released in 2017, did rather well, as it brought over $125 million compared to its budget of $4.8 million; it also received very high critical praises.

The success meant that, of course, a sequel would be on its way soon; Happy Death Day 2U (2019) took the franchise to another level as it revealed that the cause of Tree’s deadly time loop to be a quantum reactor gone wrong, which sends Tree to an alternate universe.

Despite excitement for a second movie, it didn’t do quite as well at the box office, bringing in $64 million against its $9 million budget. Still a success when you look at it financially, but it suggested that Happy Death Day 3 wouldn't happen, as the sequel didn’t seem to please fans...

However, it appears as though the threequel will go ahead, as Blum has reinvigorated excitement for the feature via a tweet, livening up the discussion for a third movie.

Blum’s teasing tweet, which was posted on January 15th, 2022, came at the perfect time, so it seems, as writer Christopher Landon has just finished production on his Netflix feature, We Have a Ghost, leaving him free to work on other projects.

Since Landon is free, and he and Blum appear eager to work together, it only seems right to assume that Happy Death Day 3 will be on its way rather soon.
