Halle Berry is to star in and produce independent comedy 'Mother'.
'The Call' actress is due to begin production on the film "early next year", after she gives birth to her second child, according to Variety.
The film centres on a woman who leaves her mobster fiancé at the altar and goes on the run. She eventually comes across a young boy and pretends to be his mother in a bid for shelter, but her wild ways soon lead to trouble.
As well as starring in the film, Berry will produce the flick alongside her manager Vincent Cirrincione and Emilio Ferrari.
Berry is due to give birth to her second child - with fiancé Olivier Martinez - later this year. She also has a five-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey.
The actress previously revealed she yearned to film a romantic comedy after having her baby.
She said: "There's a movie called 'Shoe Addicts Anonymous' that's a comedy. I've been wanting to do a rom-com for a very long time, and this is my chance. That could happen very soon after I have my next child.
"I started off doing rom-coms early in my career, but after 'Monster's Ball' everybody thought that's all I wanted to do or should do."
Berry recently finished filming superhero blockbuster 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', reprising her role as Storm from the original 'X-Men' movie trilogy.
