Guillermo del Toro will no longer be directing a live action version of Beauty and the Beast.
This is a project that del Toro has been linked with for some time, but Deadline have reported that he will no just produce the film.
It is believed that scheduling conflicts are to blame for his decision to vacate the director's chair.
Beauty and the Beast will be made by Warner Bros, and Emma Watson has been linked to the lead role for some time.
The search for a new director has now begun for the studio.
Del Toro has just completed shooting his new film Crimson Peak, and he announced earlier this week that he had started work on a script for a second Pacific Rim film.
Del Toro also has a Pinocchio film in the pipeline as well as the possibility of a third Hellboy film.
As for Warner Bros, they are set to get head to head with Disney with Beauty and the Beast, as the studio has a musical adaptation in the pipeline. Bill Condon is set to direct that project.
