Guillermo Del Toro has revealed that he is already moving forward with a sequel to Pacific Rim.
Pacific Rim will see the visionary filmmaker return to the director's for the first time since 2008 - and while the movie hasn't been released yet he is already looking ahead.
Speaking to Deadline the director said: £We’ve been talking about the idea for it and working on a pitch...
"Having had two to three years pass from the first Pacific Rim to the second movie, we can also prepare a good video game, continue the graphic novel and continue the mythology"
Del Toro has been tackling production projects over recent years but it is great to see him back at the helm this summer.
Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman are just some of the actors on board the science fiction film.
Quite when Del Toro will be fitting this sequel into his schedule is uncertain as he has Pinocchio and Crimson Peak in the pipeline. All Hellboy fans would also like to see a third film in that franchise.
Pacific Rim is released 12th July.
