Greta Gerwig had a "crazy crush" on 'Arthur' co-star Russell Brand.
The actress played the comedian's love interest in the widely panned 2011 remake of the classic 1981 film and admits she fancied the movie's "magnetic" leading man.
She said: "He's my favourite. I love him. He's the funniest, sweetest man, with a really, really, good heart. He's just lovely. I totally had this crazy crush on him. He's just one of those people who's shiny and you just want them to shine on you. He's totally magnetic."
However, the 29-year-old star doesn't think she could be more than friends with Brand because she thinks of him like a brother.
She added: "He makes fun of me like he's my brother."
Gerwig - who also shared the screen with acting royalty Dame Helen Mirren in the flick - reveals that the Oscar-winning star gave her some handy career advice.
She explained to Stylist magazine: "On the set of 'Arthur', Helen Mirren told me I didn't have to worry if I don't answer emails as she has emails she hasn't responded to in years. It made me think, 'Oh, I'm doing fine. Helen Mirren doesn't answer hers. I can also be a procrastinator!' "
