Gravity

Gravity

Gravity is already one of the most talked about movies of the autumn and will open the Venice Film Festival later this year.

The movie sees Alfonso Cuarón back in the director's chair to helm his first feature film since the fantastic Children of Men.

Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are set to play two astronauts stranded in space when a spacewalk goes wrong.

USA Today has released a new image from the film featuring Bullock aboard the spacecraft.

Cuarón has teamed up with his son Jonas to pen the screenplay and the movie is already being tipped as a possible awards contender.

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring.

But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone - tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth... and any chance for rescue.

As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Gravity is released 18th October.
