The Goosebumps series of novels by R.L. Stine are some of the most successful the world has ever seen, and so when it was announced there would be a follow-up movie to 2015's Jack Black-led film, not too many people were surprised. This time round however, things would be getting a lot scarier for the characters involved, as it was teased there would be more monsters unleashed in the sequel than ever before. Just seeing a glimpse of the flick in the new trailer below proves that there's certainly no holding back:
Directed by Ari Sandel and written by Rob Lieber, Haunted Halloween sees an entirely new cast come together to tell a brand new story, including Jeremy Ray Taylor, Madison Iseman, Caleel Harris, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Chris Parnell, Ken Jeong and Avery Lee Jones.
Taking place in the small town of Wardenclyffe on Halloween night, two friends find a manuscript previously owned by R.L. Stine called Haunted Halloween. Upon opening it, they release Slappy the dummy, who hopes to ensure Halloween is an event that lasts all year round. Aided by some monstrous friends, the boys along with Sonny's sister Sarah must work together to thwart Slappy's plan.
It sounds like your typical young adventure story, and we're sure the scares will be matched with great humour throughout! This could be the perfect film to watch ahead of Halloween - just make sure you don't take Slappy home!
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween comes to cinemas across the UK on October 19.
