Gone Girl has made it two weeks at the top of the UK box office, holding off the challenge from new release The Maze Runner.
Gone Girl has been winning over critics and audiences and has taken a further £3 million over the weekend to hold onto the #1 spot.
The movie has grossed over £9 million in the UK alone, and is set to be one of the best movies of 2014.
The Maze Runner is the latest young adult novels to be adapted for the big screen - it is based on the novel of the same name by Wes Ball.
The movie took just over £2 million at the UK box office this weekend, but it was not quite enough to topple Gone Girl.
However, saw off horror movie Annabelle to be the highest new entry this week at number two.
Annabelle is a prequel to The Conjuring, and despite struggling with the critics, the movie opened at number three this week.
One Direction: Where We Are was new at four, while Dracula Untold fell three places to round off the top five.
The Equalizer, The Boxtrolls, and What We Did On Our Holiday were all also down three places at six, seven, and eight.
Hugh Grant returned to the big screen over the weekend with The Rewrite and it was the fourth and final new entry inside the top ten this week.
However, the movie did struggle this weekend and could only open at number nine. Dolphin Tale 2 was down three places this week, slipping from seven to ten.
