According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-yet-untitled movie has caught the attention of the 70-year-old actress and she is in line to play Amy's mother in a film that the 'Trainwreck' writer-and-actress is currently developing at Fox.

Jonathan Levine is on board to direct with Paul Feig producing.

If Goldie does land the role it will be her first big screen project since 2002 comedy 'The Banger Sisters' in which she starred alongside Susan Sarandon.

Though few details have been released about the movie's plot, it is apparently set during a family holiday that goes horribly wrong and sees some hilarious mishaps along the way.

The story is inspired by Amy's own relationship with her mother, Sandra Schumer, who owned a baby furniture store with her husband and Amy's dad Gordon.

The script was originally penned by comedy writer Katie Dippold - who penned 'The Heat' - but has now been re-written by Amy, 34, and her sister, comedy writer-and-producer Kim Caramele.

Amy has previously opened up about how her family went bankrupt when she was nine and her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis the same year.

Three years later her parents divorced and Sandra moved the sisters to Long Island, where a young Amy found comfort in comedy.

A schedule for filming has not yet been set, however, as Amy is currently working on her TV show 'Inside Amy Schumer'.
