Goldie Hawn was in "better shape" than anyone else working on 'Snatched'.
Director Jonathan Levine admitted he was concerned about the 70-year-old actress having to run around after she and Amy Schumer's characters try to flee the captors when they are kidnapped in Equador, but quickly realised he didn't need to worry.
He said: "Goldie probably has more experience there.
"Goldie was 70 years old and I was concerned about her running about but it turns out I needn't have worried.
"She was in better shape than any other person on that set. The only difficulty was telling her it was time to stop."
And despite her long hiatus from acting, Goldie had no problems keeping up with Amy and her sister Kim Caramele's fast-talking script.
Jonathan told Empire magazine: "She can do it. She could do anything you have her but when Amy is doing that kind of stuff, Goldie is essentially the straight man.
"I mean, she's playing her mother. Nobody is their most f**ked-up self around their mother."
The filmmaker also admitted he was largely ignorant about Goldie's work until Amy pushed him to cast the veteran actress as her mother.
He said: "Amy was doggedly pushing for Goldie from the beginning.
"Not that I was resistant in any way, but I wasn't all that well versed in Goldie Hawn's films.
"I'm embarrassed to say but I'd never seen 'Private Benjamin' before. My god, she's incredible."
