Thanos is going to get some really good screen time in Avengers: Infinity War, according to scriptwriter Stephen McFeely.
McFeely has reunited with Christopher Markus to pen the screenplay for the already highly anticipated two-part Avengers film, which should start filming later this year.
Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, is a character that has been teased in the likes of Avengers Assemble, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Guardians of the Galaxy... and it looks like the wait is almost over.
Speaking about the character to the Huffington Post, McFeely said: [Thanos]. It's easy. Really giving him good scenes. You know, he's never been the villain in any of the movies.
"He's never been the main character in that way, so giving lots of good screen time to Thanos is paramount and pretty fun."
The recent Marvel movies have been slowly laying the foundations and building to Avengers: Infinity War with the appearance of several of the infinity stones. All of which will come to a head in 2018 and 2019 when the movies hit the big screen.
Phase 3 of Marvel films is kicked off next week with the release of Captain America: Civil War, a script that Markus and McFeely also wrote.
The movie sees Anthony and Joe Russo back in the director's chair for Civil War and will be back to helm the upcoming Avengers films. It will be the first Avengers project that Joss Whedon has not directed.
We are going to be seeing plenty of Marvel films hitting the big screen over the next eighteen months as Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-Man, Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther are all on the horizon.
It has not yet been announced which characters will be making an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
Avengers: Infinity War is released in 2018 & 2019.
