Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush aer set to star in new epic fantasy film, God of Egypt.
The 'Olympus Has Fallen' actor and 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star are close to signing deals to join 'Game of Thrones' hunk Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Alex Proyas' epic fantasy film.
According to Deadline, Butler will play the god of the desert, Set, who, according to Egyptian mythology, killed his own brother, Osiris.
Coster-Waldau will play Horus, the son of Osiris, who seeks revenge against his uncle.
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter claims Rush will play the sun god Ra, who is father to Butler's Set and the murdered Osiris.
As well as directing, Proyas penned the film's script with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazamat.
Filming will begin in Australia next year.
Proyas previously helmed Will Smith blockbuster 'I, Robot', Nicolas Cage-starring 'Knowing', and dark comic book adaptation, 'The Crow'.
Butler will next be heard reprising his role as Stoick the Vast in children's movie 'How to Train Your Dragon 2'.
Coster-Waldau, a rising Hollywood leading man, will next star opposite Cameron Diaz in revenge comedy 'The Other Woman' and recently starred with Tom Cruise in Oblivion.
