George Clooney says that Gravity is a more 'internalised' movie that you would expect it to be.

Clooney is set to return to the big screen this autumn with Gravity; a film that sees him team up with fellow Oscar winner Sandra Bullock.

It is a film that has really set the festival circuit alight and is set to be one of the highlights of the BFI London Film Festival next month.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "For me, ‘Gravity’ is a movie about coming to terms with your own death, or your own life. It’s much more internalised than you would think - and than what people would think a space film would be.

"I love it because of that and I think ‘Gravity’ is just an amazingly elegant piece.

"With this film, the secret is how you start the conversation and it’s very important to explain to people that this is a grown up film for grown ups, about a lot of different subject matters by an exquisite filmmaker with a wonderful actress at its helm."

Alfonso Cuarón is in the director's chair for the film, while Clooney and Bullock are the only actors on the cast list.

The movie has the critics raving and it looks set to be a major awards contender at the beginning of 2014.

Clooney is also set to return to the director's chair in the new year as he helms and star in The Monuments Men.

Gravity is released 8th November.
