Gemma Arterton has revealed that she didn't really enjoy working on the blockbuster movies that she has starred in.
Arterton has taken on roles in Quantum of Solace and Prince of Persia during her career, and while she is grateful for all of the other opportunities have brought her, she did not enjoy the big film experience.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the actress said: "I think if the right blockbuster came up, I'd do it [now], but I didn't really enjoy any of the blockbusters that I made!
"I can say that now that they've happened, and I'm grateful for the various things that they've brought into my life, but it's not the work that I enjoy doing."
Arterton is set to return to the big screen this week as she tackles indie film The Voices, which sees her star alongside Ryan Reynolds and Anna Kendrick, while Marjane Satrapi is back in the director's chair. Satrapi is best known for her directorial debut Persepolis, and this will mark the first time that Arterton has worked with the filmmaker.
The Voices is unlike anything that we will have seen Arterton tackle before as she is set to play a talking head in the new black comedy. The Voices premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014, and has been playing well on the festival circuit over the last year.
And it is going to be about smaller movie projects for Arterton throughout 2015, and A Hundred Streets is another film that is set for release. A Hundred Street will follow the lives of four people all living within a hundred London streets and will see Jim O'Hanlon in the director's chair.
Arterton will take on the role of Emily in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Idris Elba, Ryan Gage, Emma Rigby, Samantha Barks, Ken Stott, and Charlie Creed-Miles. The movie will be released later this year.
She also has Which Brings Me to You in the pipeline - the film is currently in pre-production - and will see the actress work with director Kat Coiro for the first time.
The Voices is released 20th March.
