Gemma Arterton has described Song For Marion as the toughest film role of her career to date.
The actress is back on the big screen this week as she teams up with director Paul Andrew Williams to play the leader of a local choir.
And Arterton revealed that she had to learn the piano as she prepared for the role.
Speaking to Metro the actress said: "I think it's the most challenging job I've ever done - apart from theatre stuff.
"I had to learn to play the piano in a month, plus I felt so responsible for the choir.
"They were mainly these lovely old people who'd been in choirs and some of them were a bit batty and could get unruly, and I was trying to keep everyone together while doing my job."
Arterton is joined on the cast list by Christopher Eccleston, Terence Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave.
And as if one Arterton movie wasn't enough she teams up with Jeremy Renner next week for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters - which is a new take on the popular tale.
Song For Marion is out now.
