Rogue One boasts an impressive cast as Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, and Forest Whitaker all star alongside Jones.
Rogue One is only the third feature film of Edwards' career and comes after huge success with Monsters and Godzilla in recent years.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tells the story of how a group of unlikely heroes unite to undertake a daring and seemingly impossible mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.
The movie is released a year after the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and a year before Star Wars: Episode VIII hits the big screen.
