The first synopsis for Guy Ritchie's new King Arthur movie has been revealed
Filming has got underway on the Knights of the Round Table movie - however, that may not be the final title for the film - and Ritchie took to Twitter yesterday to post the first image of him and Charlie Hunnam from the set.
Now Warner Bros has released the first synopsis from the film, which has been described as a 'bold new story.'
The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londonium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur - and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices.
Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King.
The movie will see Ritchie team up with Hunnam for the first time, as the Pacific Rim star will take on the central role of King Arthur.
And he is joined by a terrific supporting cast, as Jude Law, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Eric Bana, and Aidan Gillen are all also on board.
We haven't seen Ritchie in the director's chair since the success of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, but he is back this summer with the highly anticipated The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
However, we are going to have quite a wait for the new film, as it will not be released in the UK until 22nd July 2016.
