The first official trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has finally arrived, with the chaos in the film looking more wild than ever before. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are of course back in the thick of the action, with a couple of familiar faces also making an appearance in what could be the deadliest dinosaur adventure the big screen has ever seen. You can check out the two-minute teaser below:
As can be seen in the trailer, the peace that both Claire (Dallas Howard) and Owen (Pratt) found following the shocking events of the first Jurassic World film is to be short-lived. Going back to the island that still houses a tremendous amount of prehistoric dinosaurs, they’ll do their best to keep as many of them alive as possible, but could end up on the wrong side of history themselves if things go wrong (and it looks like things go very, very wrong indeed!)
The film’s official synopsis reads: “It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nubar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
“When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
“Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.”
Obviously, the thing that really sticks out here is the promise of a “conspiracy”, which was hugely unexpected by the fans. This won’t just be another mindless romp through the jungle whilst being chased by dinosaurs (though we expect that will make up a lot of it).
Directed by J.A. Bayona, the film will see Jeff Goldblum and BD Wong return to their roles from the original Jurassic Park trilogy, with James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones and Rafe Spall all also starring.
Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow wrote the screenplay for Fallen Kingdom, with Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley and Belén Atienza serving as producers. Steven Spielberg sits as executive producer alongside Trevorrow.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom officially hits cinemas across the UK on June 7, 2018.
