Assassin's Creed is a movie that we have been looking forward to ever since it was announced that Michael Fassbender was going to be starring in the lead role.

It is a project that has taken a while to come together but it looks like we are a step closer as the first image of Fassbender as Callum Lynch has been released.
The movie is based on the popular video game, howsoever the character of Lynch is one that has been written especially for the movie adaptation. The character is a descendent of the Secret Assassin's Society and can relive the adventures of his ancestor in 15th Century Spain after unlocking his genetic code.
The movie will see Fassbender reunite with director Justin Kurzel - the duo have already worked together on a new adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, which is set to hit the big screen later this year.
Assassin's Creed with also see him reunite with his Macbeth co-star and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, while Michael Kenneth Williams and Ariane Labed are also set to star.
Cameras are due to start rolling on Monday and will shoot in Spain, Malta and London.
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Assassin's Creed is released 30th December 2016.
