Finding Dory continues to dominate the global box office as the latest Pixar film has grossed over $800 million worldwide.
Finding Dory is the long-awaited sequel to Finding Nemo - which hit the big screen back in 2003 - and marks the return of Andrew Stanton back in the director's chair.
The movie has been met well critically and is now winning over audiences around the world. So far, the Pixar film has grossed over $830 million and is the fifth highest grossing film of the year.
Finding Dory is also the second highest grossing animation film - Zootropolis is currently out in front with a haul of over $1,022 billion.
Finding Dory looks set to leap-frog Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - currently the fourth most successful film of 2016 - which would mean that Disney had the four highest-grossing films of the year.
Captain America: Civil War, Zootropolis, and The Jungle Book already hold the top three spots, in what has been a hugely successful year for the studio. Finding Dory could still go on to gross over $1 billion at the box office - Toy Story 3 is the only Pixar film to have achieved this so far.
And as if all that success for Finding Dory is not enough, it has enjoyed the biggest three-day opening for any animated film in the UK this year.
Finding Dory was released in the UK over the weekend and has taken a fantastic £8 million. This total makes Finding Dory the second biggest Disney or Pixar animated opening of all time - behind Toy Story 3.
Finding Dory is the seventeenth Pixar film and the first sequel since Monsters University back in 2013. Last year, we were treated to two original movies in Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur.
I think it is safe to assume that Finding Dory will be in the Best Animated Feature Oscar mix when the nominations are announced at the beginning of next year.
Finding Dory is out now.
