The week of Scream’s release has arrived, and it’s safe to say that horror fans could not be more excited. Ghostface has returned to Woodsboro, and has a group of friends in their gruesome sights...
Scream is a beloved horror franchise, and has been since the original film’s release in 1996. The first movie is considered a masterpiece of horror, and a film that stands the test of time; the plot, characters and death scenes are among some of the best, so when Scream (2022) was announced, fans went wild.
This Friday (January 14th, 2022) sees Scream, the fifth instalment in the iconic franchise, release into cinemas, and the hype is definitely growing.
With new cast members being introduced, as well as old faces and a very recognisable villain, Scream is set to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year, despite being one of the first films to release in 2022.
The feature follows a group of teenagers who, 25 years after the original movie, have become the targets for the killer known as Ghostface; someone new has put on the haunting mask, someone who plans to rip the joy from his victims – literally.
Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette return to play Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley respectively, for this highly-anticipated reboot.
Alongside the main trio of cast members, 2022’s Scream introduces new cast members such as Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, with Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sonia Ammar.
The final trailer for Scream shows some very positive reviews, as well as new shots from the upcoming movie that portray the film as a brutal, thrilling and genius classic.
In addition to this brand new trailer, fans can also try their hand at surviving in the iconic house from 1996’s Scream.
An interactive, choose-your-own adventure has been released, in which players can explore the original Scream house while trying to not get killed by Ghostface. The exciting experience also includes hidden easter eggs, and trivia questions about the franchise. Click here to try it out for yourself!
