Fantastic Four may have been struggling with the critics upon its release but that has not stopped fans from flocking to cinemas to catch the remake of the popular Marvel comic.

The film, which sees Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell take over the roles of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, took £.6 million during its opening weekend to just squeeze past Rogue Nation and take the top spot.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation slipped just a single place on the chart this week as it took a further £2.4 million. So far, Rogue Nation has grossed $267.8 million at the global box office since its release .

Inside Out was also a one place faller this week as it slipped from two to number three. Inside Out is another massive hit for Pixar and has taken $636 million worldwide. Boxing movie Southpaw, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, was also down one at four.

The Gift was the second and final new entry inside the top ten as it opened at number five. The thriller marks the feature film directorial debut for Joel Edgerton, who also penned the screenplay and stars as Gordo in the movie. Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall complete an exciting cast list.

Ant-Man fell out of the top five for the first time as it dropped two places from four to six, while Minion was also down two at seven this week.

There was no move for Empire Strikes Back - which is showing as part of Secret Cinema - as it stayed put at number eight. Jurassic World was the biggest faller this week as it fell three places from six to number nine.

Documentary Amy is a re-entry into the top ten at number ten. The movie has been met with acclaim since its release and is being tipped as a possible Oscar contender for Best Documentary Feature.
