Anthony Mackie says the relationship between Captain America and Falcon is 'made stronger' in Civil War.
Mackie is set to reprise the role of Falcon in Captain America: Civil War, which sees him reunite with Chris Evans. While we did see the character make small appearances in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, this will be the first time that we have really seen the character since he was introduced in The Winter Solider.
We are set to see Falcon as an Avenger in this new film as well as a development of the friendship and loyalty between Sam and Steve.
Speaking to Collier, Mackie said: "I think their relationship carries over from when I was introduced in Cap 2 and you saw a little bit of in Avengers. There's definitely a confidence and respect between the two of them.
"You get to see more of that. I think our relationship is more mano a mano as opposed to mano and friend. It's not so much that it's challenged, just made stronger."
Civil War sees Mackie reunite with Anthony and Joe Russo, who are back in the director's chair for their second Captain America movie - the duo steered The Winter Soldier to both critical and commercial success back in 2014.
Captain America: Civil War is set to kick off Phase 3 of Marvel films and will be the first of two Marvel movies to hit the big screen this year - the second will come in the form of Doctor Strange in the autumn.
As for Mackie, we have already seen him star in crime thriller Triple 9 earlier this year - which saw him part of another impressive ensemble cast.
The actor is currently filming television movie All the Way, which sees him take on the role of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Captain America: The Winter Solider is released 29th April.
