Anthony Mackie says that the relationship between Falcon and Ant-Man will 'grow' during Captain America: Civil War.
The relationship between Falcon and Ant-Man did not get off to the best of starts in the solo Ant-Man movie this summer but Mackie hints that there's better things ahead for the duo as we head into Civil War.
Speaking to Cinema Blend about the relationship between the two characters, Mackie said: "Yeah, our relationship is... yeah. It grows in Civil War... But that's Paul Rudd, man. Paul Rudd and I just make fun of each other all the time, so it just carries over into the movie. So I respect his royals - I'm pulling for his royals - but we just make fun of each other all the time."
Mackie will reprise the role of Falcon for his second Captain America movie, while Paul Rudd's Ant-Man will be stepping into the Captain America franchise for the first time. Just how big a role Rudd is going to have in the film does remain unknown at this time.
The film will see Mackie reunite with Chris Evans as he joins Team Captain America to go head to head with Tony Stark and Team Iron Man.
Robert Downey Jr is another familiar face joining the Captain America franchise for the first time, while Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Bettany are also on board. Scarlett Johansson will also be back as Black Widow, after starring in The Winter Solider with Evans and Mackie last year.
We did briefly get to see Mackie in Avengers: Age of Ultron earlier this year but it really was only a fleeting glimpse of the character - it will be great to see him in action once more.
The movie sees Anthony and Joe Russo back in the director's chair for the first time since the critical and commercial success of The Winter Solider. The filmmaking brothers are set to take over the director's chair for Avengers: Infinity War, which is due to start shooting next year.
We are going to be seeing plenty of Mackie on the big screen as we head into next year as he has already completed work on Our Brand Is Crisis, Christmas with the Coopers, The Night Before, and Triple 9.
Captain America: Civil War is released 29th April 2016.
