Ewan McGregor has landed a role in The Trumpet Player.
The Trumpet Player is an upcoming Miles Davis biopic and will see Don Cheadle make his directorial debut - he will also take on the leading role.
The film follows the singer - who died in 1991 aged 65 - as he comes out of the "silent" period of his career and joins forces with Rolling Stones journalist (McGregor) in a bid to steal his music back, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Zoe Saldana is also on board as she is set to take on the role of Davis' wife.
Jack the Giant Slayer and The Impossible are the big screen outings for McGregor this year and he will be back at the beginning of 2014.
McGregor is set to team up with Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep for August: Osage County - a movie that is being tipped as a possible Oscar contender.
He has also completed work on Born To Be King, Son of a Gun and Jane Got A Gun.
McGregor is currently filming crime drama Mortdecai with Johnny Depp and Olivia Munn.
