Taking place 40 years after the life-changing events at the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's The Shining, new supernatural thriller Doctor Sleep sees Ewan McGregor pick up the role of Danny Torrance, who's still irrevocably scarred by the trauma.
Today (September 9th, 2019), Warner Bros. Pictures have released a brand new trailer for the psychological thriller, which you can see above.
Fighting to find some semblance of peace, Danny is hoping to finally enjoy life, but all of that comes crashing down when he encounters Abra, played by Kyliege Curran in her major feature film debut.
Abra is a courageous young teen, with a powerful extrasensory gift known as the "shine". Instantly realising that Danny shares her power, she seeks him out in the hopes he can help her against the merciless Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the "shine" of innocents in a quest for immortality.
The pair engage in a life-or-death battle with Rose, with Dan using his powers like never before, facing his fears but at the same time, reawakening the ghosts of his past.
Carl Lumbly, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Bruce Greenwood, Jocelin Donahue, Alex Essoe and Cliff Curtis are all also a part of the main ensemble cast, with Mike Flanagan serving as director.
Trevor Macy and Jon Berg are the film's producers, with Roy Lee, Scott Lumpkin, Akiva Goldsman and Kevin McCormick all executive producers.
Doctor Sleep is released nationwide on October 31st, 2019 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
