An exciting cult-classic is making its way to 4K and Ultra HD for the ultimate viewing experience.
Escape from L.A., directed by the iconic John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing), is getting a major upgrade, and is being released on 4K Ultra HD for the first time ever.
From Paramount Home Entertainment, the 4K Ultra HD version of this 1990s classic will include the 4K UHD and Blu-ray of the movie, as well as two stickers, five art cards and a double-sided poster.
Along with the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray™ Limited Edition set, Paramount Home Entertainment will be releasing a 4K UHD next month (March, 2022). Both 4K Ultra HD releases feature incredible picture quality, with Dolby Vision and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Escape from L.A. came out in 1996, and was the thrilling sequel to 1981 film, Escape from New York. The follow-up starred Kurt Russell (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) in the returning role as anti-hero Snake Plissken, who must save the world from a doomsday device after a 9.6 level earthquake ruins much of Los Angeles.
Fans can experience all the action of this beloved 90s film; every scene of this classic will be enhanced for the better, creating an even more amazing viewing experience.
See Snake sift Wilshire Blvd, play basketball at the Coliseum, and dive bomb at the Happy Kingdom theme park.
The movie also hosts a great cast, including Steve Buscemi (Con Air), Peter Fonda (Ghost Rider), Pam Grier (Mars Attacks!), Stacy Keach (The Bourne Legacy), Cliff Robertson (Spider-Man) and Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead).
Remastered classics are becoming more frequent, for example The Godfather has been digitally remastered, taking hundreds of hours’ worth of time to create an even more stunning version of the 1972 classic.
For many, seeing the films they grew up with be given a new lease of life is no simple thing; movies have the power to captivate and empower people, and having a crisp, clean version of movies such as the thrilling Escape from L.A. is a genuinely exciting thing.
Escape from L.A. will be coming to 4K Ultra HD on February 21st, 2022.
